On October 16, 2003, late at night, this meteorite streaked through the Earth's atmosphere as part of a blazing meteor traveling east to west before landing near the Gour Lafkah Mountains in the Sahara Desert. These fragments were sent to the French National Museum of Natural History, where the meteorite was classified as an ordinary chondrite (H-type).
